House - Heliconia Thought for more than living!
In the middle of the Historic Maya region of Yucatan, in the beautiful City of Mérida, an imposing Contemporary residence is built with a constructed area of 1174 m2. work of the award-winning Architect Javier Muñoz, Thought for Much more than Living!
Contact with Nature, spaces of harmony with the environment and coexistence, are part of the magic you will find in every corner, designed for the good taste and enjoyment of its inhabitants. Everything in it is practical, unique spaces in which you can develop the ideal place to work long distance since it has an office area with a boardroom. The garden, wide with a variety of fruit trees and vegetation, as well as an important heliconia plantation, reason for the name of the Residence.
This is a project of impeccable modernity that rescues traditional characteristics of Mexican architecture: light well understood, materials well applied and activities well resolved. The main door is a sheet of tempered glass that allows light to pass inside.
It is surrounded by a glass block grid that extends to the second level above the canopy.
The floor in polished Travertine marble, a window illuminates the living room and gives you an extra fresh air from the garden. The terrace with direct access from the bedroom, opens onto the garden. Floatingly designed with the aim of providing shade to the pool, which is viewed from above.
The dining room follows the minimalist style present throughout the house. Composed of a tempered glass table and refined furniture that reaffirm the same aesthetic concept. The double-height living room faces the garden through continuous glass that runs longitudinally along the north façade.
It has been conceived as a diaphanous environment in which the living area shares space with the dining room. The kitchen has been fitted with low cabinets that save space and has a panoramic window that introduces the tropical garden. The hob has been installed on a central island. The worktop is made of Brazilian black granite. The television room, located on the upper level of the living room, visually communicates with the outside. The bedroom has been devised as a suite with a separate bathroom that is entirely lined with Travertine marble tiles. The room, without windows, receives natural light and ventilation through a skylight.
